  • This pattern was designed by Randall Kaufmann, borrowing liberally from the Improved Sofa Pillow and Bucktail Caddis.
  • The Stimulator has become one of the great dry fly attractor patterns worldwide.
  • The hair wing and tail, and the two hackles give it plenty of floatation, add floatant and you can use this as a strike indicator while nymphing, or just add a small dropper fly to fish more than one feeding zone.
  • Yellow and orange make great all-purpose searching patterns.
  • All colors are great for salmonfly imitators and large caddis as well.
  • One of the best dry fly patterns out there.
