Fly Fishing Utah

The Deseret Oasis

The Deseret Oasis

Utah is definitely one of the fishiest states. No state has such a large group of dedicated anglers that are willing to drive farther than just about anyone else to chase fish around the western US.

And Utah has a plethora of options. From the famous Green River below Flaming Gorge Reservoir to the infamous Provo river that can be maddeningly frustrating one day and give up a pile of big trout the next. Those are just the most well-known fisheries. Hundreds of lakes, creeks and springs litter the landscape with often few if any anglers.

Do you like spooky spring creeks? Boulder strewn canyon creeks? High mountain lakes? Big reservoirs? Drift boats and big water? Utah has it all in high quality fisheries that are often unpressured.

Beyond that, Utah has some of the best warmwater fishing anywhere. From world-class largemouth bass to the legendary 5lb bluegills that John Geirach wrote about in several of his books, Utah has great warmwater fishing up and down.

If you have never ventured into the Beehive state, you should really think about it for your next adventure.
